China has launched an investigation into two of its most senior military officers over serious violations of the ruling Communist Party’s discipline and laws, marking one of the most significant purges of the apex military body in decades.
According to news agencies Reuters and PTI, the Chinese Defence Ministry confirmed on Saturday that General Zhang Youxia, vice-chairman of the powerful Central Military Commission (CMC), is under investigation.
