The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) is in advanced plans to identify select senior schools that will serve as assessment hubs across the country as the pioneer class of the competency-based education (CBE) joins Grade 10 in January 2026.

The assessment hubs will function as resource centres in various regions to provide county-level centres where teachers can explore practical assessment approaches.

The council also intends the centres to strengthen teacher collaboration, enable benchmarking and support the incubation of innovations.
