The number of candidates sitting for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) has seen a significant upward trajectory since its inception, reflecting the deepening transition into the Competency-Based Education (CBE).
Data from the Kenya National Examinations Council reveals that since 2022, when the first countrywide assessment was administered to the pioneer Grade 6 cohort, which this year transited to senior school, Grade 10, the number of learners has grown from 1.18 million to a peak of 1.34 million in 2024.
